Alpine LCD & PS2 upgrade for my 8!

Here's a pix of 2 new buttons. The right one is to turn on and off my amp and the left one is for my led underbody and 4 new red interior neon lights, 2 under the driver and front passenger seat and 2 under each front seat.

pix of the middle console where the ps2 controllers plug in..

The toggle is to turn on and off the power inverter for the moniter and ps2.

Ewwww.. I don't like that monitor at ALL. It looks so out of place like it was an afterthought.

But cool idea.

Question Why?

Props for investing energy in getting all this installed - but I still don't get it why anyone would want a PS2 in their car.

When are you playing in your car? Isn't it easier to have the PS2 at home?

I guess not understanding the general idea comes from the fact that I'm likely a lot older than you...

very clean install! with exception to the eyesore lcd screen.

It would have been great if you had NAV and hacked it so that you had access to the screen via a toggle switch. (Doable)

Jeeeez you guys are kinda hard on him. Although I wouldn't really want it that way either I commend him for doing it and he CAN watch DVD's and play games when he wants to. That's more than any of us can do. I would bet that monitor can be removed too when he is not using it. Great job and probably much easier and cheaper than hacking into the Nav!! Love the access to the PS2!!

Hey KC enjoy it!! As long as you are happy that is all that matters. :D

Thanks for the comments, good and bad. yes i can take the moniter off. watch dvds, play ps1 or 2, play a cd and play a mp3. The moniter has another aux. for a nav. system.

This is a temporary install for the moniter until i can scratch up a few buck to have a custom install similar to the the rx-8 with nav.

The picture really don't do it justice. it really looks better in person.

Thanks for the compliments, everything was pretty cheap bec. I bought everything from e-bay/the internet and save about 3 to 4 hundred dollars. For example, the alpine moniter is retailed on crutchfield for 400 dollars but i bought mine in ebay for 175 bucks! you can't beat that! So after everything is said and done, i probably spent about 450 to 500 dollars for everything installed.
