alarm question

I recently took ownership of a blue rx-8... There are two mazda dealerships in my area, so i asked about upgrading my alarm system. The one mazda dealership wanted to install the auto mate alarm system and the other wanted to install the excalibur alarm. Is anyone familiar with these alarms and can point me in the right direction. the automate is $359 installed and the excalibur is 399. That would be greatly appreciated because in all honesty i dont know much about them.

I haven't looked into either of those systems lately, so I can't really comment.

But if you are looking to get an aftermarket alarm, don't get it from a dealership, go to a good alarm shop that you feel comfortable with. Dealerships normally sub-contract that work out (just like tinting and such) at a higher cost to you, and they don't always go with the best shops.

hmmm...i wanted to go to a good alarm place, but i asked my mechanic if he had any connections with alarm places and he said it was better off to get the alarm system from the dealership rather then an alarm place. If going to a reliable alarm place is better which alarm system would you recommend? Sorry for my stupidity.

I got lojack early warning. So lojack calls me if my car moves without my permission. I would suggest that
