Aftermarket Nav display deck!!
Has anyone seen this nav tray? All I know is that I want it!! I emailed the store that carries it (in Canada) and they said that you have to cut the dash I'm not to excited about that. Anyone have this that has any comments on it?! And what kind of Pioneer unit is that?

www.canzoomer.com has it for 98 bucks. I wonder if that is a single DIN slot? If so we could install a motorized LCD.

I didn't think this was a DIN panel at all. I thought it was a tray, with a vertical back to hold up a display in that position. Someone please verify...Canzoomer, perhaps?

Huhsler is right...it is just a tray to hold a screen that will probably be ripped off if it is sitting out like that...if you want a slick 1-dinner go with the R-magic piece...otherwise start looking into something custom because there has been almost no aftermarket work on this...which is rather pathetic
one of you guys go custom and then have it replicated and sell in a group buy or through a forum...you'll make bank
oh and just so you know the R-magic piece and the guage pod MS kit and everyone require cutting the dash (just so you know)

Its actually a nice setup--the two drawbacks for those of us without NAV is that it involves cutting the dash and a screen in such a visible location is sure to get stolen.

an actual din cut out with a panel to come up and cover would be key. that way when you aren't using it then you could pull a panel down that covers it much like the S2000 or say like our ashtrays...

due to the holidays i'm still getting some stuff planned out. i'll be talking to a friend that does fabrication after the new year. i want something that will look flush with a little pull down flap of some sort. it will mount right there where the normal nav would be. it will be designed for 1Din. basically you will be able to install a motorized unit.
some examples...

or this one if you want to possibly attach an external DVD input...

the desidn i'm looking at making is for single din.so basically you can mount any single din HU in it whether it be one with a pop-up screen or just some other kind of HU. for people that just want to have a monitor thats what that last peice earlier in the thread is for. as soon as i can i will get some sketches made of it. but like i said it might not be till after the new year.

yeah well the guys at the local aren't wanting to help design a piece. they are more interesting in developing one custom job for shows. i spent about 2 hours talking to their best installer and designer. all he could keep in his head was chopping the hell outta the stock radio and mounting the single din unit in there. after alot of talk he roughly estimated the work at being about $2000 and that if any other 8 wanted something like that done they would have to bring their 8 to him.
he never grasped the fact of a possible larger production idea. all he could focus on was one car and completely shrugged off the dash kit idea. so i now get to talk to some other people now. for the price he is asking he needs to work for r-magic. i am very set on the design i want and i might end up having to go through a different developer.
so sorry once again but i am still working on this.
