ac mode problem

i might just be picky, but something doesn't seem right with my ac. i have read all about the temp fluctuations and so far that isn't an issue. what is however is the output when you change modes. full face is fine and blows real well, so does full feet. when you go half and half to supply both face and feet you get absolutely no air from the dash at all. the tech tells me that is normal since the air comes in from the passenger side? i told him then why even bother having a split mode if you get no air whatsoever to the dash that way? anyone can confirm this?

I noticed this too. I believe that the bi-level setting also opens vents in the back seats so the airflow is divided face/feet and rear.

i called mazda and they say my vin is outside the range. i think that tsb is for temp fluctuations isn't it? mine blows real cold just drops to nill when in split mode.

i might be blind, but i dont see any vents in the back? am I?
