6 CD Changer...

So I just bought an 04 lightning yellow yesterday! My first rotary and im loving it so far..

Im not loving the fact that the stock cd changer has kicked the bucket already..

All it says is CD IN and there is no noise coming from the unit, it appears that there is no cds inside. The radio works but not the cd player.

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck pulling the unit out and fixing it?

Thanks for any feedback!

I just got one yesterday, and although it plays CD's, I haven't figured out yet to load more than one in at a time.

It sounds like it may be the CD's problem. In my experience, a lot of stock stereos don't like to play specific types of CD's. If it's a burnt CD, try putting a different one in....

If I'm wrong, I hope you can figure out how to fix it soon!

Hey Toxyk, beside the CD port, there is a "LOAD" button. Press it and wait for the display to say "IN" then you can just put a cd in and it will do the work for you!

I don't have any problem playing burned discs. Sorry OP, but I can't help with your problem...

If it is dead, http://gromaudio.com

check the firmware version though for an early RX8, their website will tell you how.

100 songs per list, 6 lists, uses the steering wheel controls.

wow 04 green... thats seems nice... im actually considering that, but before anything, I want to see whats wrong with my system, It seems like that bass comes and goes, and actually it seemed like this morning that some of the right side speakers weren't working because it would get louder all of a sudden...

Yeah, the little box is not going to fix that.. But, if you do not want the changer, it might make a replacement radio a little easier to pick up. Good luck.

My cd changer quit working too. I bought a head unit off of E-bay from a Mazda3 that had a 6 disc cd changer in it. I just swapped out the cd changers and it works great.
