AU 2Din facia panel

Hi all,
First post, be gentle.
Just bought my 04 Rx8 with only 50,000k on the clock, it's still brand new.
Also had an Rx7 before this.
I want to put in an in-dash GPS 2Din, Looking at the Eclipse AVN726EA.
I have the Eclipse AVN6000 in the Pajero and am very happy with it.

I am in Australia ,Tannum Sands, Queensland.
I emailed Metra-sound, in the US, to enquire about price and shipment of their 2Din facia panel and they redirected me to their Australian distributers who tell me they don't yet stock it. Went back to Metra and stated that via email and they just bounced me back to OZ.
The old run around.

Can someone help, state side to get a price and shipment to Australia.

Metra's part number is 95-7510HG at www.metraonline.com/fit.aspx.

The Rx8 has auto aircon and standard audio sysem.

Thanks in advance
Rudi

Metra kits don't work with the auto air conditioning module.
Do a search for kanatech's one. It is a bit pricey if you add the steering wheel control and the bose system adapter modules but it should work.

Very cool pics.
That's exactly what i want, but i've decided i just want the facia panel, not going to bother with the interface unit, i'll loose the clock and stereo info but all else should be fine, i hope.
BTW what is that poking out on the left hand side of the factory LCD display.

It does not work that way. The factory radio is integrated with the factory AC/Heater. If you remove the factory radio and do not have the interface, you'll have no heater or AC. The clock and stereo info is lost regardless in your case. (Just like in my pic)

There's nothing there. The picture has a small little reflection in that area if that's what you're seeing?

Thanks Firebirdude, Worked it out late last night, finally get it.
I have chased down an Aussie installer, who has obtained an Aussie (right hand drive) version of the Kanatech kit.
Luckily i was sitting down,...$560AU,...still if ya want, what cha ya do.

Make sure that includes previsions for the automatic climate controls. Also ask if it includes the Bose adapter or the steering wheel control adapter. Just so you know what you're getting into. That price is honestly about what I'd expect. I purchased mine during a group buy and still paid about $410US ($458AUS) for the bare bones version. (No auto climate, no bose adapter, no steering wheel adapter)

Play up the price of the kit and maybe the installer will cut you some slack on the installation charge.
