2012 bose radio/navi in 2004?

How easy would it be to put new bose/navi in older rx-8. the unit area looks basically the same, but would it be easy or very difficult. I already have old navi in car now.

~$750 + labor and you can go aftermarket. Better navi than any OEM navi, better sound quality, FAR more room for expandability.

Yes really, the interior is a lot different, the center stack is different, the entire setup is different. You might as well be asking if you can put the system from a Mercedes in there.

Why the hell would you want too anyway? The factory NAV sucks ***** and the factory Bose is mediocre at best if you are an audiophile. Anything is possible with enough money but putting NAV from a NAV equipped 03-08' RX-8 in a non NAV equipped 03-08' is hard enough (and expensive) and physically things are the same so think about what you are wanting to do.

As suggested by firebirddude, An aftermarket double din multifunction unit is just better in a lot of different ways.

Yes, the Bose is mediocre. I'm an audiophile, and it's too boomy on the bottom, highs are unnatural, and the midrange is the worst - and that's where most of the music is.
