2004 stereo question - AUX input
So i need to tap into that AUX/MD button to hook up my SIRIUS/ipod. I found that one company that makes the "auxmod," but have a feeling they got overwhelmed and stopped producing them. Does anyone know if there are any other companies, or anyway to get an adapter to make that button an audio input??? Sorry if I posted in the wrong place, but this is the only one that seemed fit! Thanks!

You should check out this thread if you haven't already, I have an 04 and I already ordered this product and should be getting it on monday .
From what everyone says, it's the best option for the RX8 that's out right now

FOr aux input you have two choices...
Aux mod from sylfex
P.I.E. Adpater + M-BUS Aux adapter (Mazdaparts.com sells them a forum vendor)
What do you plan on using it for? iPod? Car computer? If car computer, I'd go with the PIE adapter (skip the M-BUS aux adapter) and pickup a Car to PC adapater (http://www.indashpc.org/). It will allow you to use your steering wheel controls to change tracks on the car pc (or more if you can write your own code) and it can display the track info on the HU's display.

I talked to Erich from Sylfex just yesterday and he says he will have the connectors in later this week. If you email him and let him know you want it, he will put you on the "people to email when the damn things come in list", put your name on it. That's the best bet for the AuxMod which seems to work great. Look around the forums for OverLoad and see what he's done electronically to his 8, the guys knows his stuff and it seems the best bet right now.

Right on, thanks guys! I already have the thing modded with an FX transmitter, the thing sounds fine for the mp3 player but sounds like garbage with the sirius. I got a switch thrown in next to the cup-holder and use that to switch on the transmitter. I talked to the guys at auxmod and they will throw me an email when they get more parts in. When I get it im gonna use the switch i have now as a splitter between the sirius and the ipod, should work perfectly! The ipod nests in the glove box (behins cup-holders) and the sirius is mounted in the system (passenger side). Ill post some images in a couple weeks when all is said and done. Thanks for your help!

FYI, if you guys didn't get the email, Auxmod basic is BACK in STOCK. I'm sure this is a repost from somewhere today, but just wanted to start spreading the word.
