Hey guys, hope everyone is doing awesome! I have a quick question:

First off, let me say, I do understand this has been covered on another thread, but there are also a LOT of hearsay, and people having mixed results.

I have a 2004 RX8 with only 1 set of keys. And by set, I mean, ONLY 1 REMOTE and ONLY 1 KEY, period. I bought the car used, and the gentleman only had one to sell.

I have heard I will have to order a factory remote and have a new '04 factory key cut, THEN upgrade to the '05 Switchblade key. Then, I have heard the converse, that it is not required.

I know I posted this under DIY forum, but I would have no problem taking the car to the dealer to have this done, as I am good friends with them. The only problem is they said they know people are doing it on the forums, but they do not know how to make it work.

Any tips, advice and procedures would be GREATLY appreciated.

P.S. Once I get the '05 working properly, I have NO interest whatsoever in using my '04 remote, so that issue won't be an issue with me.

For coding keys, it's said you need to have 2 keys coded for the car already before coding a 3rd key.

Hi, Can anybody help me, I have recently bought a used rx8 early 2004 I have the normal key with old style remote and the grey valet key however my remote will not work and i cannot use it for the central locking whilst not being a major issue its simply annoying having to put the key into the doors everytime, I have tried the on off 3 times, pressing the black button on the doors and then pushing any button on the remote twice but this has not worked PLEASE, ANY ADVICE WILL BE REALLY APPRECIATED.
