Yes, matter of fact I have done 2 12's under the rear deck in this car. As far as the sub goes, as much as Adire is the sub of the month for many a month on the forums and as much as I am considering looking at the line, they have a major major supply issue. They are not releasing the new models until late this year at the earliest. This is a one year delay already. It does not set well with me when a build house cannot bring their own products to market, how are they supposed to do a warranty claim if parts are not available? Consider some different 12's is my advice. Eclipse aluminum sub has been a tried and true performer for me for the 6 years it has been available. If Adire gets squared away and their product has not taken a major nosedive for build quality with the new factory in Chile, I will look at bringing the line in. Until then I will take a wait and see approach.

you can get the same results if not better by going with 2 10s, 12s seem a bit much for this car after my experiences with hearing different sizes etc. the 10s I got are perfect and obnoxious at the same time :D

It's true that Brahmas are back ordered, i've left an email to see when they will have stock.
2x10 is not worth considering... Takes up too much space&weight and won't go as low, 1.5x the price too!
That 12" brahma really fit the bill for what i needed, low, hard, small box and "cheap".

As far as spl there is not way a 10" will out do a 12" with everything else being equal (proper power, proper box, same brand sub, etc). For sq, a 10" might be a little tighter, but a 12" will usually player lower. I personally prefer 12's, 10's just aren't loud enough. I have 1 12" w-7 in my trunk and I think it sounds great except that it hits so low that it can actually cause an odd pain in my ear after continuous use that I haven't ever gotten from other subs. But that's probably just me.

Although I haven't completely thought it out yet I was thinking of going this route.

It might work well for the people who are making enclosures to fit the tray in the bottom of the trunk, which is what I may do.

I got my 12" Eclipse sub in the trunk with the box by removeing the plastic piece where the trunk lach is. It fits fine, or you can just have a box built inside.

Mine's a 12. The box must be smaller than 12 inches in one dimension to fit into the trunk. and no more than 13 inches in height if you want it to fit all the way back towards the seats. Mine's 10x13x19. By going ten inches in box dimension, I was able to fit grill to front. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...d/DSC01236.jpg

That's what i figured approx.
damned opening, can't fit squat in that trunk. And bought the car thinking i could use the passthru to fit my snowboard... well... i guess it's a ski passthru
Does anyone know if you can take out the whole rear seats (back bracing and all) so that you have full access to the trunk from inside the car? Kinda like a wagon.
It would permit insertion of a bigger box. :D
I've seen quite a few boxes with that kind of grill... I don't want to flame but i don't see the use in that design. Looks neet but a golf ball could go between the bars?
Now i'm down to choosing the right sub... I want a brahma, but will I wait that long?

No dynamat in the trunk for me, and no rattles. If you go 10 inches deep with the box, that gives an inside mounting depth of less than 8.50 inches (assuming 3/4 inch mdf, doubled) so A brahma, ID Max or other deep 12 incher might not work in that box. If you don't leave room for a grill, you could go almost 12 inches in depth (10.50 inside depth).

I have a 12" Kicker CompVR in a box I made. I originally used 3/4 MDF and didn't like the sound. I made the exact same box out of 1/2 MDF and sounds louder. The box is sealed with approx.1.10 cubic feet(inside demension). I've had numerous compliments from people with "professional" systems The box dimensions are 12" deep, 13" tall, 16" wide. The back of the box has the same angle as the rear seats so that it fits nicely. The only complaint is that my rear deck and trunk DO vibrate quite a bit. Also, be prepared to add some highs. I added some Kenwood 3/4" tweeters to the sail plates (next to other tweeters). If you want some pics, let me know.
