'04 RX8 key switch
Does anyone know if I can get the '05 Rx8 "switchblade key" for my '04? If I could would I just go to the dealership and ask for a switch?

You can, but they run something like $250, then you also need a key blank that needs to be cut, and the key must be programmed. There's a DIY on the forum for programming, which will save you dealer costs...

Is the dealer the only place I could get the key cut?

No. Any local locksmith can cut the key for you.
Also, you can get the switchblade remote on eBay for about $50 or so, then a replacement key at the dealer or some of the forum vendors, and program it yourself based on the DIY if you do have two working / registered keys. Simple as pie.
