using the search function would have answered this question. (really, it would have) but I'm feeling nice.

answer is you CAN make it fit but it will look like crap.

(nice looking car but as you can see, the lights do not fit well)

^true i asked the guys at racing beat over at sevenstock , they sed it would be hard fit cus our exhaust sits a little lower than the 09s thus the pips would looks wierd if they aint in the rite position for the rear bumper

yeah, I would not recommend people put the 09 bumper on an existing 8. (I don't even like the looks of the new rear bumper but maybe it's just me)

It seems like it would fit better if they had not half-assed the work.

That's not even the stock '09 bumper... but the lights are and indeed, they don't look right because they are not flush with the rest of the '04-'08 body.

the above picture is the 09 taillights on and 04-08 bumper.

if you do the bumper, you need to do the taillights. cant be one or the other.

I'm just curious as to why you would want to install an '09 rear bumper on an older model?
There are plenty of BETTER looking aftermarket rear bumpers.

^ i agree, might as well put a nice aftermarket bumper on instead or maybe wait for new body kits to be developed for the 09's then try to fit it. that way you get a nicer bumper and that you might be able to fit the new lights in too.

thanks guys for all the info!

any suggestion for the rear bumper to go with autoexe front bumper and side skirts? I dont like the autoexe rear bumper therefore i was thinking to put the 09 rear bumper with the new 09 tail lights.

thanks for all the post btw!

i dont like the autoexe rear bumper either, but i think what would go nice with the autoexe front bumper would be the either the kenstyle rear or the fabulous rear. by the way, clean car!!

RX8strakes has rear lens tint (rx8 specific) that make the gen 1 lights look nicer than stock...
