I did a quick search but was unable to determine the part number for the wheel well clips on the rx-8.

I was wondering if anyone could confirm that these are the same part that is used on our car. Would rather have 25 for 7 bucks than 2 for 5 bucks.

i looked up the factory number, its BC1D-56-145 which goes to this guy, Mazda Mud Guard Retainer 20mm Hd Dia 9mm St Lgth

although i bet the one you found would work too

 

I would double check. I think the BC1D-56-145 is an 8mm fastener. The OP's link is a different size. BC1D-56-145 is correct, I hate those things and have replaced enough of them...

 

Thanks for the feedback. I ended up getting the OEM fasteners from RotaryFX and sure enough I ran a couple short but the splash shield didn't appear to be hanging at all in any area. I went to go for just a short run and after 10 minutes, it ripped right off again.... so much for those clips!

While I was at the Mazda dealer poking around, I got the part number from them and you are right now it is BC1D-56-145. I will properly buy this later on. Will update if I remember to!

 

They have them for the 8mm hole as well.
