I live in texas and i was wondering how much of a tint should i get for my RX-8?

 

I would go for black - not smoke, not grey.. etc.

Legal limits. 25% light transmission on the sides - limo tint on back.

I live in PA and have 15% and love it. Being that you're in Texas I probably would go darker as long as you are comfortable driving at night with tint. My brothers live in Las Vegas and they both are 10% with 50% on the windshield and I must say that it is really nice being in their cars when the sun is out, so this may be a good option for you.

 

i live in dallas - have 20% all around - which is slightly illegal but not really that noticeable to the po-po. its kinda hard to see out at night, but not too bad. can't even see in at night and it's help a ton for keeping some heat out during the blazing tx summers.

Huper Optik is black as midnight but apparently it's legal. Or so the tint place told me. Despite this, you can sit inside the car and hardly even notice it's been tinted. It's possibly the best tint you can get, but be ready to shell out $400 or so. I live in Houston and it makes the 8's puny AC tolerable.
