GB: Concept Mazdaspeed Hood Scoop -- Sign up!

I think this hood is absolutly gorgeous! How the hell can I get my hands on something like that? Does Mazda (or anyone) actualy manufacture that hood? If not, what would it take to convince a shop to make one (or several of them)? Maybe we can get a big group together and get a few of these done?

i think its just a fiberglass/sheet metal/carbon fiber scoop that is molded onto the stock hood....like those fender/hood scoops they sell at auto stores that just use 2 sided tape to stick on and give it that agressive look (lol) .... you could find someone to make them, then cut the stock hood and it would become functional.

Traditionaly auto makers dont mass produce parts that are found on concept cars.

Try contacting the people at http://www.aria-group.com They are the ones that "developed the body kit for this RX-8 in conjunction with Mazdaspeed. Aria used a combination of clay and digital modeling to execute this project."

Thanks for the link, but it doesn't look like they have anything up on the site -- not even an email address! Anyone have ideas as to what other places could pull a job like this?

Cool, thanks -- when I first visited the site, none of the links worked! I just shot off an e-mail to them, I'll report back on the news and keep you posted.

looks nice. I think I still like the Seibon KS hood better though. Although I think this hood may grow on me...

The hood is very nice better than most I've seen, but to each its own. Then again I have not researched and compared all of the different hoods for the 8 either. IMO it makes the 8 look even better from the sides.

Looks to me like it's simply the stock hood with an insert in the rotary portion.

By the look on the images, the hood air scoop is added onto the original hood. If you all are interested in just the air scoop, I think our carbon guys can recreate something like that air scoop in real carbon fiber. The only thing would be to modify your original hood to add the new air scoop. I think it can be done if we have enough buyers. Let me know what you all think?

I think that sounds very exciting! How many people would be required for a production run? Would you guys be able to make a prototype first to see what it would look like? Where is your shop located at?

Can you give us more info like associated cost, labor, options, etc.? That'd be great! Thanks.
