Yes you can see that if you press down in that spot...but when during driving is a hood going to experience pressure in that manner? Never, unless you're driving in golf ball sized hail, which, if you are doing that, you deserve a broken hood ...Anyway, the point I originally wanted to make with this is that carbon fiber is a material designed to be lightweight and maintain it's strength through its ductility (sort of engineering term for flex, or bend)..So yes, it will flex if you press on it, but not during driving, at least under my own experiences up to 130mph as previously mentioned. Skyscrapers are designed with a similar bend but not break principle in mind, as they are allowed to sway (ductility again) to a certain degree. Maximum strength does not come through rigidity, but rather finding a material with the proper measure of ductility, this being the goal of a carbon fiber hood: strong, lightweight, ductile. I apologize for the engineering stuff, this is just how I think.
