Putting on MazdaSpeed Kit this spring. I have S Tech springs, so current drop is 1.5 inches and the front and .75 inches at the back.

Looking at a great deal on a wheel/tire combo that is 25 inches (.9 inches lower than OEM) which will effectively give me a drop of 2 inches at the from and 1.25 inches at the back.

I like the fact that this will effectively increase gear ratio to about 4.6 from 4.44 but is this combo going to be too low with full MazdaSpeed kit on?

 

what size tires are you getting?

Well the MS front is about 1.5" lower than the stock bumper without appearance package...So you can be the judge.

Anyone have 2 inch drop at front plus MS kit? Experience?

 

The real question is what are the streets like that you drive around on? Do you have to get into driveways often?

The drop would look great I just don't want you spending all this $$$ and then have your bumper ripped off by a pothole/driveway lol.

Well you already have D-Specs/S-Techs, so drive your carup to the lip of your driveway and measure how much room your working with. You probably already drive up at an angle. If it's anything less than 2", you'll scrape your expensive bumper! Oh noes...

with the AP you can re-calibrate your speedo depending on what tire size your running?

If anything get coilovers, drop it like its hot, and it'll look hot. dont raise it.

I hope this is not your daily driver . Since your going to be having snow issues where your at . If its not your daily you'll be alright .

 

I have the MS front bumper with d-spec struts and springs which is a 1.2" drop and the front is about 4.75" off the ground. I dont scrape but i also go up driveways at an angle. I think a 2" drop might be too low. I am getting coilovers and will be selling my lightly used d-specs.

 

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I've decided to stick to regular diameter tires and not lower my 8 anymore than it is already... just not practical.

 

Plus with the lower pro tire you will increase your side wheelgap, which looks fugly

 

True. I love the look of the drop I have now...
