Tint help
So im kinda stuck in this situation at the moment... Im debating on how dark i can go with my tint in western pa... Is 20% too dark for the 4 side windows and rear? Id like to maybe do a 50% on the windshield as well. I dont have any issues with inspection but am worried about getting pulled over for it. Any sugestions would be helpfull. BTW, i have an '04 BB.
Thanks

You can't go anymore than 70% legally all around.
No state I know of allows windshield tinting, that would be stupid. I believe IF tinting on a windshield is allowed, it's from the roof down so a certain point that it is and no more than that. The only other tint allowed on it is what's from factory.

20% is too dark. I would never go below 35%. I'm not concerned about being pulled over for it, my main concern is actually the visibility. That's like wearing really dark sunglasses. But I live in Oregon where its rainy and cloudy 2/3s of the year, so where it may be a terrible idea for me, it may work great for you.

I have 15% all around. I think 30 is legal here, but I haven't been pulled over since I got it in January. The back is a tad too dark at night, so 20 would probably be good.

I went with 20% all around(sides and back), and would do it again in a heartbeat, I've not had any issues with it so far in WI,IN and CA(only a few weeks). If its a really dark night on a dark driveway I might have to roll down my window, but its not bad and I think looks really good while still not making it impossible to see out.

Wheeldog, it never bothers you on cloudy days? I'm probably too picky lol. I like 35%, it has the dark, tinted effect from the outside, but it doesn't affect visibility too much.

Nope, I've not had any problems with mine on cloudy days, I've had 35% on a 3 and 5% on a firebird I used to have and would do 20% again in a heartbeat, expecially on another 8. I find 35% when it's sunny out you can see in pretty clearly, where as 20% you almost have to get up on the car to see in, but both I can see out pretty good, just gotta get used to backing out with it. I personally hated my 5% tint, it was WAY to dark.

I wouldn't bother with the sunroof, its darker than the windows to begin with I think, plus it's hardly (if ever) looked at the same way as windows. I doubt anyone would notice you tinted it. Waste of money imo.

It depends on your area big time I have 5% on the back 3 windows and 15% in the front.. and I love it, not one problem in a few years with multiple run-ins for other things.

my only problem is not being able to see at night [merging lanes on the freeway or crossing peds] so usually i have to roll down the windows for a second] but it is totally worth it.
