Test RX-8 for Mazda Speed Style (Urethane) Kit Needed, LA area
#52
Hey wow....I figured this would be another "announce product then abandon thread after 6 months of sporadic updates" type of thing. :D Looks pretty good, and the price is right...I bet you sell a metric buttload of these. Could you break down the price for front/side/rear though? I'm still leaning towards the more subtle appearance package look but with the MS sides.

As of right now, we're still waiting for approval to do a group buy. It should start any day now. So for now, I'm unable to give you the prices out of respect to the moderators..
please hold back on those type of questions until we get approval...
Thanks

No problem, the original ms kit is a really nice and you can't go wrong with it. Our kit is just an alternative for those who really like the kit but still want quality without spending about $3,000.
Regardless, if you ever need anything, please feel free to contact us.

This is just a little FYI for everyone...
i am in no ways affiliated with Extreme Dimensions but i was just taking a look at their website and their full MS style kit in CF is 1249!
Arnt carbon fibre supposed to be much more expensive than Urethane?

Well anyhow look at 350Z CF kit they have... its in the same price range as Aerowerk's urethane kit here just for comparison

Dude...you gotta be kidding me! Even if the kit was $500, i would never get stuff from extreame. My friend got a Lexus kit from them a few months back and it didn't fit worth crap even after all the work we did to mold/bend/push/shave/sand/fill/punch into place. I wouldn't recommend it unless if you plan on taking it to a bodyshop and paying them extra to take care of the imperfections.... The ad is kind of tricky, it does not say anything about carbon fiber on it, i think it is another imperfection fiberglass kit.

Like i said, their kits are crap. The carbon fiber kit is all look, it is wrapped with carbon fiber over fiberglass! Cheap clear coat, imperfections, nasty weave and it does not fit for jack! If you want a thread that i can show you, i will post the thread from another forum on how bad their kits are!

[MRRX7 & BIU]
I appreciate both of your comments. Perhaps there is just some miscommunication in this matter. Either way, lets not start a war over something like a kit. The MS kit is a great looking kit. How about we leave it at that?
About the Car…
I’ve actually seen this car in person before many times and it’s a great looking car but I don’t believe its carbon fiber. The car you see is actually one of Team Hybrid’s Rx-8 (grey rx-8). Also, the piece that you see on the bottom of the front bumper is a splitter and not part of the actual ms kit. I believe that’s the only thing made from carbon fiber material.
Picture from DUB LA
If you want to look at more pictures, check out the coverage we did from the DUB LA show.
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...threadid=29297
That is the RX8 pictured on their site.
The picture that BIU posted is of another car not associated with the original post mentioned.
I guess the whole issue with Carbon Fiber is just perhaps personal taste and whether you want it on your car our not, it’s really up to the owner. The negative aspect of Carbon fiber is that it’s similar to fiberglass, it cracks. I’m guessing that’s why there has been a high demand for Urethane Kits over fiberglass.
Regardless if it is carbon fiber or not, both of them are great looking cars.
Thanks for the comments.
Make sure you check out our site tomorrow afternoon. I’ll post a large amount of pictures.

that ad is full of it, they are selling a replica fiberglass kit, yet they are using pictures of the real Mazdaspeed bodykit. I know for a fact that the picture they are using is the Hybrid RX-8 and Tom Ngo owns it. He bought the authentic Mazdaspeed bodykit and I have seen it in person. Why would Extremem dimensions sell a replica fiberglass kit and put pictures of the real MS kit on their website. This is stupid.

and secondly... the pictures Extreme Dimension is using is not the black 8....
so you probably got something mixed up there...
and lastly.... just curious... you said Tom Ngo's 8 has the authentic MS kit?.... how come the kit in the pictures is a CF MS kit... Mazdaspeed didnt make a CF kit...

The kit from extreame isn't 100% full carbon construted it is carbon fiber laid over fiberglass. THe kit will cracks the same as fiberglass kit. Meaning the strengths of urethane are : DURABILITY, FLEXIBITLY, EASE OF FITMENT and CF with fiberglass overlay doesn't have any of that which make urethane much more better.
