[AEROWERKSONLINE] Test RX-8 for Mazda Speed Style (Urethane) Kit Needed, LA area

Our Need: Stock RX-8 (no appearance package), LA area

We are looking for someone who is interested in testing a URETHANE Mazda Speed Style kit. The URETHANE kit will be provided free of charge and the participating party will be allowed to keep the kit after the entire process.

Sounds too good to be true? Well it’s not. AeroWerks will possibly be distributing this kit which has already been made and produced in Japan. We need a test fitment so that we can evaluate its quality and decide whether we wish to be a distributor. If it’s a good fit, we will immediately make it available to you in the US Market.

AeroWerks Online is the new product department of Autowerks: Body and Paint, a long existing, 25 year, reputable body/paint shop.

We need your car for about 3-4 days and will provide a complimentary loaner car for the time being. In exchange we ask that you only pay a minimum cost for the paint and fitment and allow us to take pictures of your car for our site.

The shop is located in the LA area. Please fill out the below information if you’re interested. We will be accepting applications for the next few days. We are looking for a particular individual that will best fit our needs. The person selected for this will be privately notified via e-mail.

AeroWerks, I told you I could hook you up with several RX-8 owners in the LA area... but you never got back to me. If you'd like to drop me a PM, I'll get you their names.

Hey Omicron,

Yea, thanks for the suggestions and your help. Just sent you a pm.

But back to the subject, keep them coming guys/gals... We've already got quite a few and you never know. We're offering this to only true RX8 enthusiasts which means all of you. So please, keep the information coming. All of those who at least apply will get special consideration if we do decide to distribute this kit.

As of right now, theres no set price. We still currently deciding whether we wish to distribute it. However, if we do like its quality and fit, we can get a mass shipment withing that week. Hopefully that will bring down the price abit and make it a better deal for everyone.

This is truly a great idea. Good luck with the kit and hopefully it isn't put on hold like those "turbo kits". I wish i was in the LA area because I would jump on that in a second. Does anything happen on the east coast?

Does this kit include the MS-style rear wing? I don't believe any of the other MS replicas do, save Rotary Extreme.

Haven't found a kit I like better than the MS one. Although INGS is pretty sharp too. :D If this urethane kit doesn't have any dropping or sagging problems in the hot S. Cali summer (or central FL or Tx... good places to test??) then you will potentially have a serious winner. The last piece of the puzzle is that with painting it is still significantly less expensive than the original MS kit. Given all that, you'll have a winner on your hands... good luck, and I hope to keep following your progress.

Thumbs up

Thanks for all the replys and interest in testing our MS Style Urethane Kit. We're also hoping that everything will go well in the fitment/painting process. If it fits as we hope it does, we will have it available perhaps even within a week. The kit is actually already made. We're just testing the kit to see if we wish to be a distributor in the US Market for the company who produced it in Japan. So recieving it after the test for possible distribution to you guys should be rather quick. We could in theory just start to distrubting the kit, but as I'm sure many of you are aware of, many body shops/distributors work on good reputations so the quality of the kit has a lot to do with the final product that you guys see. We want something that we can proudly put our name on rather than have unsatisfied customers. Basic logic.

[bureau13 & titaniumgrey]
The Kit that we offer does not come with the Rear Wing as I'm sure many of you expected. However, I will look into your request. Thanks for the suggestion!

By the way, the application process will end Monday Midnight (PST). To be completely fair, we will not for any reason recieve applications after that time period.

Thanks again! :D

Thumbs up

Thank goodness someone finally came out with the urethane version of this kit. I have experienced many bad things about fiberglass and the fitment and prep is ridiculous. Also the paint on a fiberglass kit easily chips off when rocks hit it. This is a great idea Aerowerks to offer a free kit to a lucky person on the boards. Hopefully its me

I encourage you to fill out an application especially if you are already willing to purchase the kit. Regardless if you are selected or not, all applicants will be the first to be notified of our results. In addition, if we feel it’s a good fitment, all applicants will be the first to be contacted via e-mail about the distribution of these kits.

Hopefully it will be worth the wait for you.

Thanks.

As far as the test fit, we're only able to offer it to individuals who would be willing to bring their cars to a shop in the LA area and leave it there for 3-4 days. We wish that we could include a larger scope of RX-8 lovers but I'm sure you are aware of the impracticalities of it. However, please fill out your information via e-mail and I’ll make sure you’re added to the contact list.

[sohcpunk]
Many of us at AeroWerks love the look of the RX8 and were wondering why no one decided to distribute a urethane version of it since I’m sure many of you have your doubts about fiberglass. We feel that there is nothing in particular wrong with fiberglass as I am sure many of us have experienced it in the past. Whether it was a positive or negative experience varies. However, we wanted to give the consumer what they wanted and we found that many people tend to favor the flexibility and overall quality of Urethane kits.

So yes, if it does produce a good fit, we will immediately distribute it to everyone who wishes to purchase it!

Thanks for your comments/interest.

Does your kit include the MS rear spoiler?

If it does i am willing to pay some money plus cover shipping to get the MS rear spoiler and give you a full review plus pictures.

Let me know.

Thanks

Thanks for your interest in testing our kit. The kit includes the standard front, side, and rear pieces and does not include the rear spoiler.

Unfortunately, the only way an individual may participate in this test fitment is by applying and filling out the information provided on the first page. Thanks.

Sincerely,
AeroWerks Online
