tail light film question..

I have my windows tinted, had it done at a local shop. Can they use that film on taillights as well?? Or do I need to see if they have a special film? If it's a special film what are some reputable brands?

Thanks

Ask the shop. As far as I know it won't work.. or atleast not very well. You'd need a special film for the tails.

The tint used for windows is not thick enough to withstand the weather and wear. That is why the vinyl is nice and thick on the headlight/taillight films.

I had Lamin-X... It worked great... but was insanely hard for me to get it to stick around the corners of the tail lights.. kept popping up... but they are a good company, sent me a new set when I told them the trouble I was having.

I would not suggest using the spray tint as I've now painted my tail lights twice with it and both times it fades in about 6 to 8 months.

I'd find a local paint shop that can do it for you and have them painted. The finish will look much better and it will last.

I did my own lights with a spray... The tint was just too aggrivating after time.
Didnt use paint, used ink and an airbrush... hasnt faded or anything and its been about three years now.

I used lamin-x. PITA to do though.

I've always been curious if a very light spray tint could be done evenly and without looking brown. Never been a fan of the black out look.

The paintshop I go to puts a tiny bit of black paint in clear and then sprays the lights.
