Smoked my lights!
I needed a REALLY big pack of rolling papers... but, JK.
I have been wanting to smokeout my lights for a while now and since this weekend was my birthday a buddy with a paint booth offered to do it for free (I bought 1qt of omni black). I wanted the rears to be very smoked, but still see-thru during the day, and black at night (w. the lights off). The fronts I wanted smoked, but still very see thru both at day and night, something noticable though. After a few gentle coats with varying ammounts of clear/black, I am extremely pleased with the results.
I snapped a few quick pictures on my way in the house today... pardon my car being dirty as hell.
The front lights seem to match the hood well, and it really ties up the sinister look of my car IMO
A closeup of the headlight
This pic gives you a good idea of how they look in the light/dark. The one on the right is pretty much black in the shade, and the other you can see thru fairly well.
In the daylight the tails look great, just dark enough, but not too dark.
I think the car looks great with the lights toned down, and the price for the mod was right!
Whatcha guys think? All comments are welcome!

The price was the cost of the quart of black, which was like $20. Anyone with a spray gun could do this themselves for very little money and about 3 hours of time.

The lights are a little dimmer, but if that was a huge concern I could get brighter bulbs, or wetsand it down a bit to be more transparant.
dmc: Thanks, thats what a lot of people have said so far, and I agree
It really looks great in person, and I cant wait to have a CF trunk on there to tie it all up!

I can't wait to do this to my tail lights. I'd do the headlights since I have a BB it would look like I had none and I have eyelids so it would make having them a mute point. Nice to know how much you got charged, come the spring going to start talking to the bodyshop down my street in hopes of getting a good deal hehe. Seeing more and more people doing this mod to their lights I love it!
