Has anyone tried/done smoked clear side markers as of yet?

I was gonna try to order some just for the sake of trying the mod (a bit expensive tho for a test), as I feel it may look sweet on the darker cars (Grey, Black, Green, possibly Reds) and looking to do a D.I.Y. on obtaining a clean look/proper smoke shade for the side markers.

Anyone interested in this idea or have a clear spare (only 1) I could obtain at a good price? I wouldn't mind a scratched one, either since this is only a test.

If anyone's done this previously, please let me know as I'd be extremely interested in seeing the results! Thanks in advance!
