While we are on the topic, I would like to get your opinion on these fiberglass kits.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0271572058
Guy reckons he bought the moulds from Vielside, however makes the kits himself.
I was under the impression reading it at first that it was genuine however the seller was quiet open about it not being.
Any opinions?
I have concerns about paint matching, guessing as my RX8 is black it should be ok. Anyone know what a rough price or a good place to get kit painted brilliant black & possibly installation as well?

he is a liar.....i doubt highly veilside would sell the molds to a current kit.....and to paint and fit at a reasonable shop your looking at $1500+

The thing about fiberglass kits are they they continue to shrink and the molds are very limited production. Most molds will make less than 50 good fitting pieces out of it but most companies try to stretch out the production so they can make more money. When making fiberglass kits some of the resin and fiberglass get stuck in the mold and harden and build up. So eventually every piece keeps getting smaller and smaller until it no longer fits on the car. So you should be careful buying replica kits because you never know if you are buying the 3 kit produced with that mold or the 100th kit produced with that mold. The person with the 3rd piece will have no problems with fitment but the one with the 100th kit is going to be screwed. The cost in bodywork alone to make it fit is not worth it.

You should buy a polyurethane kit like hmm maybe a Tsunami kit haha. seriously though polyurethane kits will always fit the same no matter if it is the 3rd kit or the 5000 kit. That is why polyurethane is expensive because of the tooling of the mold and the polyurethane itself. It is well worth it though you never have to worry about cracking it.

^what he said is true, ive been dealing here in central florida with someone selling veilside knock off's.its a nightmare, the sides are the worst, like the previous member said we are getting anywhere from 800.00 to 1400.00 to fit, fit, fit anf refit until it fits and paint these, mazdaspeed oem on and out in 2-3 for the full kit,200.00 install.you get what you pay for,so be ready.

I highly doubt I will buy a knock off, just testing the waters, getting feedback ect, no point in paying more for something then you have to, in saying that there is also no point in paying for something that is going to work out to be a bad investment. I'm a firm believer in only having to pay for something once, no point in buying something cheap twice, ends up costing double then the original. I've never bought a kit for a car before, but I've also never liked a car as much as this one
be interested to get your opinions on the best kit at the best price..
Realistically it's not worth forking out heaps on a kit to me, but if I can find a good one, at a good price I will definitely be interested.

Just wait the comments from StealthTL about my front, I am pretty sure it will fit close to perfect.
And for people from USA, the exchange rate is on your side because I am in Canada...

you need to sus out all your options, no point in blowing a whole heap of cash when you can get the same thing half the price.. I'm not talking about buying a crappy kit, I'm talking about having some common sense.
by the sounds of things you would buy a lolly pop for 6k if someone stuck a greedy sticker on it. By the looks of things you dont have a kit, all I can suggest is dont go out and buy a kit just because you think it's good quality. Shop around.

Yeh, we dont really get Royal Purple that easily around here, heard a few good things. Also heard that it's synthetic? or at least Semi, I personally wouldnt use it simply for that reason. Synthetic oils dont burn as well.
