Well... Ya know, it's funny. In a couple of weeks or so, I'm going to install the full-blown kit. Complete with combo switch, wiring harness, cutting the rear bumper... the works. However, I'm not doing this one alone... I have an excellent body shop guy who is going to help me out with it. I will take pix, and post when completed. Step by step.

Thanks Omicron for the great pictures. How easy was it to take the rear bumper off? Have you put it back on yet? Keep us updated on what you decide regarding the wiring.
Doccable - thanks for your input. I look forward to seeing the pictures and instructions when you install yours in a couple weeks.

At any rate, I never removed the rear under-bumper at all. I considered it, but decided it wasn't necessary. I did decide though that it wouldn't have been that hard to remove the middle section of the under-bumper if I needed to, as it's held in place by just 5 "pop" connectors. But these were at awkward angles to reach, so instead of messing with them I just sat behind the car or laid on my back to reach up under the car. Easy as pie with a dremmel tool to make the cut once you get over the act of cutting.
I'll keep y'all posted on the wiring when I tackle it.

Thanks for the pic. Having owned cars with rear fogs I appreciate their value (not the 'cool' factor) but this one looks like a reflector tack on off an old 924.
