SO is RE Amiyama making accessories for the RX8?
I was curious on whether Amiyama was making body kits and accessory kits, their stuff is absolutely marvelous. Could anyone possibly shed some light on the subject, I just can't seem to find info anywhere on the subject?

A new REAL bodykit
Hey boys, ive been browsing around here just now and i have seen that no one has put anything down about this kit. Im a regular at the 7 forums but just wanted to share something with you guys. This seems to be just a drawing but its by a respectable tuner so it just might make its way to production. also check out http://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=185367

That's the nicest RX-8 bodykit I've seen yet. I think a front licence plate will look much better on this front than inside the original air intake.

Stock = beauty and function.
Aftermarket generally = weight and inefficiency.
Just looks... not worth it.

However, the majority of the body kits available for ANY car *do* just add weight and simply give the car a different look. Now whether you choose to put those on your car, that's your business.
I just find it useless unless the kit weighs less than the stock car, because the entire purpose behind the rotary and the RX lines of cars, is to be lightweight. Adding weight by 'kitting' the car will just make handling and accelleration both decrease.
And 'tuners' generally prepare the body kits that will make their car most effective. Which is why if you look at the tuner made cars, some of them (Dinan for BMW comes to mind) will never use 'kits' as they serve no purpose for the needs, and others (Veilside) will kit up the car like crazy because they are trying to 'sell' an image.
Either way, very few and far between will you find a 'kitted' car that is better than a stock car, without engine or suspension upgrades. It's 99.9% of the time, just for looks and that's fine... if you've made your car really good in the aftermarket sometimes it serves that you want to make your car 'look' as fast as it is. But if your engine is stock and you kit your car -- you've effectively made it a poorer car than what you had in the beginning.

Boring.
Absolutely killed the beauty and originality of the stock front end.
Sure its big enough to slap a big ole intercooler in there, but now it looks like every other car on the road.
But then I don't care for most kits.

Now, now kids...
Now, now kids let's all play nice. This is a forum, not a **** rally replete with 'stock' Gestapo vs. 'aftermarket' resistance.
Everyone here is entitled to an opinion. There are valid points for either, depending on what effect one is trying to achieve. We can discuss, we can debate, we can talk, but let us not ARGUE. Leave that sort of talk in the sandbox.
