KY Is this possible? (Paint)

So my driver-side and passenger side doors have paint chipping off them, really gets to me, you can't really see it from 5-10ft away, but when i get close and see it it pisses me off (You know how we are about our cars)

My hood also has this one big chip in it that pisses me off.

My question is, if i just got my 2 doors painted and my hood would it completely un-match the car? Or would it blend quite well?
(I have an 06 brilliant black)

Also what do you guys think this would cost?

i run a body shop myself and to have them match is that tough we just get the paint code for in your case would be brilliant black and then mix it to the specs... ive redone my rx8 hood and its turned out good but it also kinda just depends on the person whos doing the work same with the price....

Ehh true you obviously will spray the panels with oem paint code but the problem is that the paint that is already on the car fades over time from sun / weather .. So if you just paint those panels alone it is VERY likely they wont match 100% .. The correct way to insure a perfect match is to also paint about 10" onto the surrounding panels fading the new color into the old color, then Re-clear the old panels as well as new.

or you could just polish the old paint to bring out the color again?

Polish out the paint chips? Never new you could polish primer to match BB.

the first two posts have it nailed. It's possible, but to have it matched and blended right, it's gonna cost you. Best thing to do is start calling local body shops and get estimates. Ask to see examples of their work. Be ready to pay.

i think he meant black shoe polish

Id try touch up paint before spending on new paint, if you get a painted hood, just buy aftermarket, if its cf and you like it bare then just leave it at that, if you want to paint it go ahead, but its better than spending money to start where you already were, i never understood that about people who paint their oem pieces again.

as for the doors, i dont expect you to get the CF ones, i dont expect anyone to buy those as they are in excess of 2000.

It really depends on how much sun your car has seen:

Do you park your 8 daily somewhere that sees sun for a few hours?
Do you park your car in a garage?
How many miles do you have(if low, are they garage kept or left in a driveway)
What year is the car?

If your 8 sees alot of shade, is relatively new then painting should be close, but realize it will be different.

Good news is that BB is the cheapest color for the RX8 to get repainted, my friend recently got his whole car repainted BB for a few thousand and corrected where the previous owner got into an accident, personally it looked nice but i would have spent 10 hours clay baring, polishing and waxing before i dropped cash like that.

i meant to polish the old paint to bring up the color because he mentioned that the original paint is becoming dull. of course you cannot polish out paint chips because there is most likely no paint left if its chipped off.

and shoe polish... really? lmao first time i've heard that lol

You can't restore the colour by polishing it, it's a reaction caused by the elements, uv light etc that actually alters the tone.
