Painting plastic pieces

I'd like to paint my bumper insert, side vents, rear bumper plastics, exhaust trim finishers

I have a BB rx8 gt

I would like them to be more black but not too black so they don't clash with the car...

any ideas?

There was a Powerblock show on painting plastics a while back on Spike. I forget the details but they mentioned prepping the plastic with a special chemical so the paint will stick and then buying a specific paint for plastics so it will flex and not flake or rub off.

Sorry I don't know the details. You might check the Spiketv powerblock website to see if you can track down the episode and details. It was the guy with the old school mullet that rebuilds old cars.

Edit: Stacey David! The show is called Gearz. www.gearztv.com

Eh. The show website didn't have much.

But this looks pretty good. http://www.torquecars.com/styling/plastic-painting.php

Let me google that for you...

to paint plastic wash in warm water and when wet sprinkle comet clearer and scrub with scotch brite (this opens up pores in plastic) then either use fusion paint or bes of all SEM paint through a air gun. this will never crack or flake if done right i garentee it
