Official let's make a single sided rear bumper thread

So continuing off another thread, we would all like to see a single sided rear bumper in production, Agree? Everybody likes the sound of the hks hi power exhaust but some people are restricted in buying it because of the fact there is only one tip coming out a dual tip rear bumper

I believe it's a win win for everybody...The rx8 consumer gets a great sounding exhaust with a great look, the manufacturer get's the rear bumper in production which is a new product in circulation that I think will be a good seller and also I believe more hks hi power exhausts will also see more purchases

What does everybody think? would love to see this happen

I'd like to see this. I'm thinking about getting the HKS hi power and the duel bumper dosent go to well with it. I think this is a good idea and product. Will keep this in mind.

definitely agreed! i would like to see this happen...

as continued from the other thread...a manufacturer possibly doesn't have to make a whole new bumper, but more or less copy the mold for the MS diffuser but make it with a single outlet..i think it would be a great alternative for anyone w/ the hks hi power and should be fairly inexpensive.

To me, I don't think it really looks that bad but with a single sided bumper it will look BETTER

Or perhaps just an insert that matches the rear bumper plastic... it would be around $50 instead of $600^

Im sure someone could mold one from scratch, get a good color match to the flat black plastic and make a pretty penny selling them

no just a piece that replaces the exhaust shroud of the empty hole...so basically you just replace it.

hmm you defintely have some great thinking, but if you put it that way, you could easily close up your empty exhaust shroud with some bondo and some kinda of light weight material...

i'm thinking that it would be nice someone design a whole new bumper to cater to the hks hi power though.

I mean yeah it'd be cool if you could get a whole new design, but exclusivity = $$$$

it's all just a dream. but maybe if we can draw enough interest maybe it may happen, nd we can see how much a realistic price would be.

so this is obviously a quick mockup, but I think if you kept it looking oem it would actually look pretty good

If you guys and gals make a serious list with enough interest I would be willing to make such a part,,,,

Hell Im right in the middle of making an entire diffuser and exhaust shrowd replacement pieces anyway,,,
probably wouldnt be as cheap as $50 though, unless you had oodles of people on the list,,,

Here is what Nemesis8 did with his bumper. Obviously both sides were done but shows you what closing up the shrouds looks like.
