From www.xe.com

38,640.00 Japan Yen = 345.787 United States Dollars

I assume you get two painted covers for that price .

Nice, but damned expensive for two covers.
As usual for (almost) everything that comes from Japan as an accessory.

They look ok I suppose--I'd need to see a pic of the whole car though--alot of guys around here mold those on to their Cadillacs and Buicks.

The Autobahn mirrors are indeed nicer, however they are also smaller and I believe even more expensive. Plus, they come unpainted AFAIK.

Oh, and also: they are not the breakaway style (for those who think that to be important). So they can't be folded closer to the body.

Has anyone installed the wiring for signal mirrors? i.e. Are there pre-exisiting wiring in the door to tap into, or would one have to tap signals from the actual signal lights.

I am considering getting a set, but I can't figure out how to go about the hook up.

I'd be surprised if there was a pre-existing wiring. So I'm pretty sure you have to run your own wires to the stock turn signals.

i'd like to see smaller more aerodynamic mirrors. The MS mirrors are way to overpriced!

Those covers are pretty nice but way too expensive. Guess I'll stick to my stocks with puddle lights.

Shed some light on Autobahn Mirrors

Hmm....I think I may be of help on the Autobahn mirrors.

Actually you guys can go ahead and e-mail Yamada-San directly from his website's contact info.: www.autobahnsports.jp, his e-mail info@autobahnsports.jp and tell him what you want. He doesn't speak English but he was able to find a friend that does; some guy in Japan that does Trading business for car parts. Most like this guy will contact you or you can just go ahead and e-mail him directly : hk.win8888@msa.hinet.net or hiroshi8888@mail2000.com.tw

I was able to get the complete Kit from him for about US$1830 including mirrors, translated from Japanese Yen.

EST:

Front Bumper: US$768 (includes the screens)
Sides: US$429
Back: US$303 (exhaust cover kinds )
Mirrors: US$330 (includes wires and mirror mount brackets)

I was able to get free shipping to Taiwan since the trading guy had a 20' container shipment coming into Taiwan. But for US then you would need to discuss with him, since I think it might be more complicated. You can ask him to check to ship by sea or by Air since it is not too heavy. If you have like UPS, FEDEx, DHL, or TNT at work with company account number with discounts maybe you can ask shipping dept.for help. They can calculate it for you.

But I need to add I am only giving this info for your reference it might not work since maybe Autobahn Sports has exclusive distributors in US where he is obligated to go though them. In Taiwan he doesn't so he was able to take my purchase.

About the mirrors, yes there are no signal light wires so you have to run a wire to the mirrors, I believe my installer tapped the signal from the switch rather then from the turn signals. But I have it where if you turn on your parking lights the LED mirrors light up and blink when you use your signals. Don't worry about the size you will get use to it, it is a little smaller but it has a sort of blue tint film which makes everything seem clearer than stock especially at night, even with my medium tint I can see clearly at night.

Okay....I hope this a way you canget the product cheap...if not then back to the same old....

THESE are the mirrors I've been looking for! I've emailed all three address, but the info one bounced back as undeliverable. Haven't heard from the other though.

Do they come in different colors, or just one? I'd like to get a pair in winning blue, but I'm willing to have them painted.

Just found out they don't come in all different 'colors'...only 2. And here's a pic since the one on the front page isn't working:

I think they look great, and going to get a set!

Nice find!

too bad you will look like a Ford SUV or other SUV's.

I think it detracts from the look of line on an 8.
