what are people using for puddle lights?
I put a pair of flank HP - SMT bulbs in there last year but it was hard to optimize the light output given the angle.

ideas?

I wish i had a better, more lingo-filled way of asking this...but what would you call the LED setup in the back...rotary logo...triangle...thing...in the OP's pics? Probably one of the single coolest mods I've seen on here.

If you want something subtle, I know there was a member that sold em. Can't remember the name but I think it's called the derwankel? If you want something you can spot a mile away get the rear fog (super bright, I think I got some pics of it in my pro)

^ derwankel stop fabricate the rear rotary light in 2006, but you can get another one from lebren, check this site: http://www.lebren.com/

Which 194 bulb are you guys using for the license plate? My 194 already died after only 5 months

Im using this one but the fitment seems really snug, touching the plastic covering and i think thats why it died already.

This bulb is probably going to be the best for plate, map and doors. These are relatively new and I don't have them, but they look like they should be a good fit:

Thanks Aipex. They do look alot smaller but since vleds updated the site the output meter is gone. Any idea how bright these are compared to the ones i linked.

Hey guys, I'm having an issue after installing all my LED bulbs, I've fixed the blinkers and now I'm trying to get the tail/brake lights to work properly.

I put reistors on the 3rd brake light wiring(I have the two row LED housing from some vendor on eBay, better than I expected for the money.) and now my TCS/ABS light are no longer on, but another issue has arisen. Once that got done I no longer have tail lights, I still have all other lights when I turn my lights on, including the rear marker LEDs in the tail light housing, but the LED bulbs do not go on but still function as brake lights fine.

Before I installed the 3rd brake light, they worked fine as tail and brake lights, and if I put the incandescent bulbs back in the two tail light sockets, it works fine, so it's not a wiring or fuse issue. I already checked everything I know to check.

So any ideas?

EDIT: it's a 2004 and the site I ordered the bulbs from is DDMTuning.com and all the other bulbs work fine.

Jsbs84 im not sure If you want my answer, but I have put the 194 bulbs in about 4 cars now and those bulbs are most likely going to be half as bright. The 194 bulbs with the 4 forward facing bulbs are High Intensity Bulbs, I asked them once before a similar question. So in summary you want the super bright ones pay the $20 if you want them half as bright so with the $10. I went with the super bright ones of course! Hope this helps.

Roflcopter the answer to your question is I believe you are misundstanding where to put the resistors. 1 pair of resistors will do both the front and rear turn signals. No other light in the car requires the resistors. If you need more help let me know.

Each turn signal circuit needs a resistor, the brake circuit does not.

You guys are wrong... I know for a fact (from personal experience) that if you replace all your brake lights with LEDs, then the ABS / DSC light will be lit.
If you keep at least the center brake light's incandescent bulb, then there is no issue.
In case you put a LED bulb (or a full LED third brake light) in, then you'll need the resistor to prevent the ABS light.
The weird thing is that apparently the LED tail light / brake bulbs roflcopter has behave differently than other known LED bulbs...

Well after lots of time looking at wiring diagrams and with a multimeter I narrowed it down to the bulbs, apparently the two LED 7443 bulbs I had in the tail lights were putting voltage on the brake circuit when the tail lights were on, just under 2 volts to be exact. This circuit should be at 0 volts unless the brake is applied, and is so if I put incandescent bulbs in the tail lights, that means either the contacts are in the wrong places on the LED bulbs I have or the internal circuitry is incorrect or not properly shielded. The reason it works fine if I do not have a resistor on the 3rd brake light is that the voltage being leaked onto the circuit is not being impeded since the draw of going through the 3rd brake light is so small. And it also works fine if I have no bulb in the 3rd brake light socket, I assume this is due to the circuit not being complete and the voltage not being leaked because it has no where to go. As we all know, LEDs need a certain voltage to be switched on and unlike incandescent will not just be on at a dimmer brightness if they have slightly too little voltage, this leak must be putting them just under that threshold.

If anyone sees any issues in my logic please enlighten me. I'm emailing the company I got the bulbs from to see if this is an issue with all of the bulbs they sell or if I somehow ended up with a bad lot, either way I expect them or the bulb manufacturer(I will get a name from them if they can't help) to fix this issue with their product.

I remember years ago this happened when I switched to LED's bulbs in the rear. I got lost in your explaination there.... but the solution is a diode in each circuit ... there is a thread about it even I can't find anymore lol.

See the little lump in the wire covered in tape...looks like it's the black/yellow-stripe wire? The diode's in there.

The yellow/black wire is the brake light circuit, I figured that one out today. And what exactly do you mean by a diode? I have some electrical knowledge but I'm not sure what you mean by that in this respect.

Correct me if I'm wrong but a diode is just a component that only allows current to flow in one direction, so by placing the diode in the brake light circuit, you have eliminated the path that the leaked power from the tail light was using to get onto the brake light circuit.

Bingo! I just remember the brake lights stopped coming on when i put in the LED bulbs and it was frustrating. It's so long ago I forget, but it was likely one with a couple amps rating should be fine. Here http://www.radioshack.com/search/ind...gkw=diode&sr=1, they're cheap
