Recently bought a rx-8. Needs body work. dont want to pay full price at the body shop. any one have any ideas or know of anything i can do?

 

You should explain yourself better.
What kind of work does it need? is it dented? scratched? damaged?
What colour is it?

 

Needs new passenger and driver fenders. Has a dent in the back left wheel well also. its titanium grey. also needs a hood. the end of the hood now has a bunch of small dents and its not level with the front bumper

 

Contact Mazmart or some other vendors to get the parts you need.
Are you sure that the car wasn't involved in a front end crash and that the hood doesn't line up with the bumper because the frame is bent?

 

it was in a front end crash but the frame isnt bent. i know for a fact it isnt. it just was poorly fixed as far as the body work. i will check out mazmart. then i have to have the whole thing painted. they did a poor paint job as well

 

since it was in a accident the warranty was branded by mazda as well. no warranty and it only has 47,000 miles on it. it has a list of recalls that they wont replace bc of that. bullshit

 

What recalls? You should be able to get the MSP16 reflash, and a gas cap. There isn't much else. TSBs are not all recalls.

 

nope. the mazda dealership said that i couldnt get that either bc of the branded warranty. Thats the lack of power one your talking about. then there is a clutch one and acouple other. he printed out a list of 5 that were for the 04 series.

I don't do any bodywork, but I know of one good shop in Novi where I took my mom's minivan when it got hit in a parking lot. I was looking around their lot at some of the cars they had worked on and I was very impressed with their work. There was a cadillac cts that they were washing after they did some work to it and it looked brand new. Our car only needed a bumper replacement and they fixed a few rust spots as well, but I think they did good work. I don't have any experience with any other body shop, so that is the only one I can definitely reccommend. I know Novi is quite a drive for you but, I'm sure you can find a good body shop around you. On another note, there was another shop next to the collision shop where they were working on a Porsche 917, so that was very impressive. Anyway, the place is called Classic Collision. It's located on 10 Mile and Novi Road.
