mud guards

Does anyone have mudguards without the appearance package - I'm wondering if side aeros are a must.

It's not a must, I've seen just the front and rear mud guards and it looks just fine without the side aeroflares. Note that the rear mudguards are different than the rear aeroflares. As for pics your going to dig around to find some.

I have Side Aeroflares and Rear Mudgards instead of Rear Aeroflares. I did that because the mudgards prevent **** from hitting the side of the car better than the aeroflares and in terms of looks to me, they are both nice but different from eachother. Yes you can put just the rear mudgards w/o any additional appearance package, but to me the part that makes the car look the nicest is the side aeroflares.... gives it a lower to the ground look and just looks nice....

I think you need front mud guard with the side aeroflares as you get dirt and stones flicked up from the front tires hitting the leading edge of the side aeroflares causing damage.

One other option is to protect this with sime clear film

I have the front and rear guards. I prefer it over the aero flares. There are pics in my sig below.

Nice looking car tigger, but it's hard to see the mud guards on a black car. I agree with you I don't like the aero flares, takes away the smooth lines of the 8. Does anyone have pictures of a lighter color 8 with mud guards and a front aero dam?

Thanks. yeah I kinda realized that when I took a second look at them. I seem to recall a silver 8 with the same set-up. I'll see if I can find the pics and post them here.

In case you haven't seen this before, here's the evolution of my VR '8 from nothing at purchase to splash guards to SG +side aero flares. (see about half way down the page)
