Mint Blue Wing from Bulletproof - Let the hassle begin...

So lets see where this all began.
On December 15th 2005 I ordered the Mint Blue Fiberglass Spoiler for the RX-8. At the time they said I should receive it within 2-3 months.
Well its been over 3 months and i've been constantly calling in to find out the status. So where is the wing now... NOBODY KNOWS!!!

All bulletproof can tell me is that it hasn't arrived in their Japan warehouse yet. So, that essentially means in 3 months Mint Blue couldn't make the spoiler. I really doubt they are that backed up.
So after it arrives to the warehouse in Japan...
then customs in japan,
then shipping accross the sea,
then customs in the US,
then inspection at Bulletproof Warehouse,
and then sent to me in TX.

Up to this point I've been pretty pissed with Mint Blue for not even making the spoiler. Well, now this is where the anger starts to shift...
So I call Bulletproof again today to cancel the order because as far as I'm concerned, the spoiler doesn't even exist at this point. What they tell me is that inorder to cancel I have to speak to Ben, the manager... "but he's going to be hard to get a hold of"... I guess im set for a big f*cking headache trying to cancel the order. Most companies can have good customer service when everything is going fine, its when there is a problem... that it really matters. I'll make sure to update and report how well BPA.com handles the matter.

In the meantime i'm going to call my ex, who's back home in Japan for the next few weeks, and see if she can call mint blue and see what is going on from there side. This should be interesting to hear.

Sorry for the rant, but i figure the exterior appearance section should be a good place to warn people not to get their exterior appearance purchases in the future.

DOMINION 03-28-2006 07:03 PM

Well yea I say thats BS customer service too. I mean your a customer and your paying for a part + service. Call your CC and cxl the order. If you never signed a paper then it wont stand in court and your cc has to cxl the payment...

lazi 03-28-2006 07:32 PM

hey i can get ahold of Ben for you. my friend knows him. let me know if you need to get ahold of him. =) and I CAN help you out with the mintblue spoiler =) haha

BigOLundh 03-28-2006 07:37 PM

I think i may have posted too soon. Ben just emailed me back (very promptly), and told me the Spoiler is on the boat now... and should be arriving in port on the 10th of April.
I wonder why nobody else who worked there could of told me this.
Well, anyway... i'll upate when I get more info.

Lazi, thanks for the help. If i knew you had the spoiler, i would of just ordered from you 4 months ago (4 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

lazi 03-28-2006 07:40 PM

Now that BPA has emailed me back, saying its on the way... i don't know if this whole delay was really there fault or mint blue's, or the supplier inbetween.
Blizah, as long as i get it soon... i'll be happy.

lazi 03-28-2006 08:06 PM

hey bigO. if it just got on the boat. im thinking its gonna take a long time still. thats how it usually works, when things are being shipped through the boat. thats how it works with our company at least

BigOLundh 03-28-2006 08:11 PM

I heard the boat trip is only 2 weeks long.

john@bpauto 03-29-2006 07:59 PM

i guess i missed getting on here by a day...good to see Ben got back to you though. i will be honest...we receive over 200 emails a day from all over the world and there are only 3 people who go through them all. some emails take 10 seconds, some take 10 days to get an answer. companies like mint blue are on a made to order basis normally and they only produce their product when it is intelligent for them to do(read:when there are enough orders to make it more profitable to product the product). unfortunately its very hard to get an answer from them as to when they'll decide that enough orders is enough. for example we've been waiting on a top fuel exhaust since october...even the sales people for the companies don't always know what the operations part is doing. that is the tough part with the smaller companies.

I understand yall are backed up, and i guess it does make sense for mint blue to produce products when the level allows for profitability. i guess this is just the nature of the business.

I'm just counting the days till i get the call from BPA that my item is ready to be delivered.

Thanks... i really like it as well. My car actually looks nothing like that now, but i still keep the sig pic.
As soon as i get my wing gets on i'll be pretty much done with the exterior of the car. I'll do a new shoot at that time, and definetely an updated one in that exact same spot.

I think Hell just froze over BigO's getting his wing?

jaguargod 03-30-2006 03:40 PM

Sorry to hijack, but this is kind of relevant. I just recently ordered new wheels, and when they were two weeks late and after several calls to customer service with no one being able to give me any information or seeming to care, I called to cancel the order. That got their attention and they waived the shipping fee and took $100 off of the purchase price and gave me a tracking number that day to keep my business. These situations suck when you are going through them, but they turn sweet when they work out in your favor.

XDEEDUBBX 03-30-2006 06:37 PM

i hate ordering parts from japan..sorry to hear about that shyt man..hope it falls through..if not, lazi can get you a nice knockoff..

well i can say that i have heard great reviews towards memory fab with there product and service, so i wouldnt hesitate to go with memory fab with their products. as for BP, i heard mixed reviews about them, but you guys also gotta understand, there a big company and i guess can't go through "so" many e-mails to replay asap. so i guess patience has to be there as well with big companys.

john@bpauto 04-01-2006 04:47 PM

it's tough for us to get a good handle on shipping times. it's pretty much 4-6 weeks from the time that the product arrives in our warehouse in japan. the thing that holds up the process is how long does it take for the product to get to our warehouse. we also say it's at least 8 weeks and for some products it has been up to 6 months. it all depends upon the manufacturer and when they decide to manufacture the product. generally for an instock product it's 8-12 weeks.

BigOLundh 04-10-2006 09:59 AM

Ok... lets get this thread back on track. And by on track i mean... on me.

Today is the big day. April 10th. The day my spoiler is supposed to arrive in port. I sure hope it got here and in good condition. I'll give BPA a few days to call and let me know they have it. In the meantime, i'll send john an email to see if he can get me some info sooner.

I'll report back with an update soon.

It is kind of hard to take a company like mint blue seriously when they have an entire product line up for the mazda MPV.

Full body kit including eyelids, Carbon fiber hood, lowering springs, and exhaust system.

Wtf ???

Any reason in particular why you went with mint blue ?

Congrats, can't wait to see it on your car. I just got my new spoiler today as well. Too bad I don't have my car though...

hate to go off topic, but the spoiler impressed me, great buy for the price. It's the ings spoiler btw... by the time bigO got one spoiler I already went through 3 different spoilers ;)

lazi 04-11-2006 12:56 AM

Mintblue are mazda kit devolopers. they have only for mazdas from what i know. to mazda 6 atenza, and also rx8 and mpv and i think maybe more.

I hope moostafa is still planning on repairing/replacing his ings front bumper then.

So, which one did you finally settle on?

ings also... last time i talk to moos he's changing his front end.

lazi 04-11-2006 01:18 AM

he "is" changing is front end. i know wut =) muahahahha

NgoRX8 04-11-2006 01:25 AM

... moostafa is changing... :(

BigOLundh 04-11-2006 02:54 PM

Seeing how Lazi is in on this... im gonna take a wild guess and say moostafa is going with the mint blue front.

i like the ings better... he was just about to finish off the entire ings set...

BigOLundh 04-12-2006 04:43 AM

yeah... since he had everything else ings, i think the ings bumper would have been good.

Then again getting the mint blue bumper from Lazi is about 1/3 the cost of a replacement ings bumper.

Good guess, new set up is in the sig. I personally like the looks of it better. It would have been nice to be one a few to have the entired Ings kit, but at the same time, I was thinking about switching up the front bumper for quite awhile anyway.

IZoomZoomI 04-13-2006 02:51 AM

yea make sure to post some pics when its on ;)
