Loose Rotary Accents

My 8 is only a week old. While washing it tonight, i noticed that the rotary accents on the front and back are loose.

What is holding these on? I didn't want to pull on one and have it come off.

I also don't want them to bounce off while i am going down the road.

Any advice for this is greatly appreciated.

the rear is only held on by tape adhesive. It should be very strong. The front is the same except for two tiny retainer pins.

Did you add this accessory or did the vehicle have them from the dealership?

If they are really loose, I would try to remove them and start over. If you lose one on the road its gone, and their not cheap.

came from the dealer this way.

The back is what is really loose. I'll try popping it off and starting over. A little 5 minute epoxy should so the trick.

thanks!

Be sure to prep everything properly - remove all the old adhesive from the accent and the car and clean all surfaces with alcohol. Sounds like maybe your dealer didn't take the proper care.

And you might want to rethink the epoxy thing... you'll never get them off later if you want to, like if you decide to add the rear fog light, front lip spoiler, etc. A better solution would be to go get some 3M bodykit tape from AutoZone, Pep Boys, etc. Just my 2 cents.

Excellent point, Omicron. That didn't occur to me, but of course you're right. The double-sided tape is what comes with the accents.

good advice Omicron. At the moment I can't think of ever removing them but i am sure that will change.

My bigger problem is that i got my first ding today. In the church parking lot of all places.

Oh well. It was going to happen eventually.
