Looking For Grill Inserts

Hey all, I searched through the forum and couldn't find what I was looking for.

I've been online searching for these as well and have found a lot of other REALLY cool stuff but I want some good looking, well fitting mesh inserts for the factory bumper. I am concerned about rocks breaking expensive parts and want to solve that!

ANy suggestions would be great!

THANKS!

I ordered mine from ebay. You can get some good deals on there. I got all four grill inserts for $99. They look good, and will not affect warranty because they can be removed with no holes or anything drilled. Do a quick search for RX8 grille, and it will bring the options up. Good luck....

Dan

Grille Tech makes these. There was a group on these a while back, search the Group Buy threads for Grill Tech.

You know that is nothing more than for looks right? Only the very bottom of that grill is functional, and it is where air enters the car for the intake to suck it in. Now the long skinny area directly under that is where the ac condensor and other expensive things are, not to mention the oil coolers on the sides.

I used the oil and ac condensor grills from www.racingbeat.com

The pic gives a cool look but dont think it is giving you any protection.

Tigster,

Do you have a picture of what the RB grills look like?

I agree with you. The Silver 8 with the other grill LOOKS good but doesn't protect the expensive stuff.

I want looks and functionality...

If you good take a pic that would be great. Thanks!

I have pics at home, but check out www.racingbeat.com and they sell the oil and ac condensor screens. I highly recommend buying them, an 80 dollar investment can save you alot of $$. The oil cooler screens are visible but the ac condensor is not (unless you laydown and look for it)

Here I found some, they are the silver screens.

You cant see the ac screen (it bolts to the ac condensor under the bumper)

Oh very interesting thanks for the heads up.... How about the ons from grill-tech and such? are those harmful as well?

The material seems to be alot thicker than the racing beat. Any problems with lack of air flow?

Just checked. Looks like the "grille guy", but I see it as $99 (buy it now). Guess I'll see if I can wait for a deal.

Question - it lists the material as "raw aluminum". If that's where you got it, hows it holding up? Thanks.

i bought it off someone who's lease was up on his 8. i checked out the grill guy stuff and it looks very similar. it is holding up well.... the grills add a whole new dimension to the 8. they make it look more aggressive.

What's the hole size on those ? I have a roll of 1/4" hardware cloth and I was thinking about making my own and spray painting them black, but I'm not sure if the spacing is small enough. I noticed a couple dings in my oil coolers today, so I definately want to get something on there quick.
