And if you really want to do it right then you should pull the badges so they can be painted.

There is no need to pull the emblems with plasti dip it's not more right then what I said it's just a waist of time. You can get full coverage while they are on

Subscribed.
I just bought some wheels with supposed anthracite accents. They turned out to be just barely darker than my sunlight silver. Plasti dip sounds like a good way to test different shades till I find one I like for permanent color.

YUL PHL: did you put a black base coat down first? If not, do that. It'll come out the darkest that way. good luck

moar

i thought the clear glossifier would be slick and prevent dirt and brakedust from accumulating. unfortunately, that is not the case. Plastidip surface is a dust/dirt magnet. i now know why black is most popular for wheels

not to mention that shade of blue clashes with your car. A lot. Makes my eyes hurt....

I'm not a hypocrite, dipped mine gold a while. Fell out of love with them in under a week. I mean I'm not a fan of your bronze, but c'mon guy... this just looks odd.
Pls No more, you're crowding the thread lol

Edit: If you want to see how the look gold:

They were also IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean. This is 9 coats of gold plastidip and 6 coats of glossifier

Also, dipped wheels, badges and strakes

But instead of dropping the money on that, I thought I'd plasti-dip them and see how they looked, just in case I hated it. Dipped the strakes, emblem and rotor accent too.

Just thought I'd share since I haven't seen many out there in this color combo, at least not on OEM wheels.

Before:

After: Used Rust-o-leum Flexidip. Matte finish looks fantastic. Took through auto car wash 36 hours later and didn't change...I have high hopes of this holding up as long as I want it (unless my wife gets in and checks a curb...).

guys, we all free to do whatever we wish which is a great thing, and I do not want to sh*t on your thread but please think twice before picking up a can of that stuff. ask yourself what will the result be? Am I taking a beautiful car and literally spray painting it/ components of it? My friend just 'dipped' his s2k wheels in white and the whole car in red and it breaks my heart as a person who takes pride in paint appearance and details that make a car beautiful. This stuff goes against everything that a nice car should be.

Upon browsing youtube I came across this, then I click on rx-8 club and see this thread, sad faces all around.
the link below truly lowers the bar for RX-8s

less is more.......
