Joey Mod anyone?

I was planning on Joey modding my headlights, because I don't want to tint them for obvious reasons. I was wondering if anyone here has done this mod. I have done it on other cars and I was just trying to find out if there were any unforseen problems.

For those of you who don't know what joey modding is, you paint the inside nor reflective parts of the headlights to look something like this http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...y-mod-r56.html

Any input would be appreciated. I was also thinking about painting it a different color, perhaps to match the stock paint.

I know a few members have done this and there was a dyi on it as well. I am sure if you search bake headlights or something similar you will find it.

Say goodbye to your high beams, I did mine was pretty easy to do... But since I had blacked out my headlight previously and then removed it, my lights werent as cool... but when I get new ones I'm definitely redoing the "JOEY MOD"

Well, I think he means you don't paint the reflectors, just everything else. If you do a google image search for joey modded headlights, that seems to be how they all look.

If you are talking about the series I RX-8 though, there's not much to paint. Basically just the forward parts of the head and parking lights bezels and the strakes that come off the headlight bezel. Everything else is already black. It will look kind of like this (imagine stock signal area and parking light lens):

Series II RX-8 headlights are all chrome inside, so "joey modding" them will have a bigger effect on their appearance.

^ this I was talking about, I have done it on my VW's in the past and was just wondering if there were any snags that I should expect with the 8's headlights.
