So I'm going to have some extra cash at the beginning of the new year and would like to overhaul my lights. I'm thinking some CCFL halos and some HIDs (my 05 has the base halogen lights). The headlights currently put out plenty of light, but I feel they could use... something. I'm going 6000K all around... mainly because that's the lowest they'll go. I'd rather have 5000Ks, but whatever.

So I was thinking of these halos (pic is a link as well):




These HIDs (kinda pricey)(pic is a link):




And perhaps some new lenses (I've heard that using Honda S2000 lenses makes a huge difference).





I really like the CCFL halos above, but I'm not 100% sold on the HIDs (I'd only do the low beams). They cost nearly $400. Are they good enough to warrant that kind of cost? Are there others that are as good/better?

Using a HID bulb in a none HID housing is considered by many to not be a good idea.

Try this place for a real retro fit kit.

I hate when I have cars with 6000k and up driving behind me. It's a distraction.
Can't you just swap a set of OE xenon headlights in?

 

They only had 6000K available, so that's why I'd picked that. I'd rather go for 4300K. I don't like the blue tint all that much, myself.

I'd like the halos, but they really aren't necessary. I just like the look of these ones. They look pretty stylish, IMO. I don't want my RX-8 to look gaudy, just classy.

I've been looking around at TheRetrofitSource.com and have found a few things that might work.

Definitely this HID kit (in 4300K :D):


And perhaps these Acura TSX projectors (or at least the lenses)




The guys there seem to think that it's perfectly fine putting HIDs (namely that first kit) in halogen projectors...
