Unhappy I hit a DEER!! Need advice

Right front fender needs to be replaced. I cant find anything for less than $400, not painted. I have a Flint grey 2005 RX-8. I did see some fiberglass fenders but also not painted. Anyone have a few places i can check for parts? Also, anyone know how much it might cost to match paint and get a new fender painted? Does anyone here have fiberglass fenders? I hear that they are not a mazda fabed part and they prob wont match up right. Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks

damn deers. check ebay they have some pretty cheap fenders. and cruise around the for sale threads on here. and for paint. it all depends but for one fender it shouldnt be that much x>150$
it depends it you want the body shop to fit it on for you and mold it to fit perfectly. so its as much as u can afford

Sorry to hear. You could try insurance. Repair issues on the 8 add up very quickly. Maybe you can blame some other items on the deer too.

I wouldn't get fiberglass fenders because they usually need alot of work to get them to line up correctly

you need to check though, some insurance companies treat hitting an animal as something different that might have a lower deductible and no raise in premium payments.

Least with nationwide I know that it covered as something else, least it was for me when I hit a deer last year.

I went with the insurance when a deer messed up my MS bumper. I think it's just easier. You could also check some part-out threads as well.

Thanks for all you advice. Yes my deductable it like $500 so i dont think it would be worth the price jump in monthly payments. I will prob get it pounded out and drive it that way till i find a quality replacement.

THnaks again

cheack on the sale threads for people parting out their cars, or go to your local junk yard. i wouldn't recommend fiberglass if it gets nicked it breaks real easy. good luck

How about carbon fiber fenders? Under $500 shipped if you search right and no need to paint!

I'm guessing the deer didn't carry liability insurance? Did you swap papers with it?
