How to secure Rear Rotary Crest?

(sorry for my syntax)

I try search the forum for a solution, if there is any, on how to secure the rear rotary crest.

I bought one recently and i installed it the day before and last night it was gone!!!
Anyway, if anyone could suggest a something to support the 3Ms adhesives I would be really pleased. I am willing to buy another if I find a way to secure it.

Thanks and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

How weird, never hear of someone losing a rotary accent by theft.

The certain thing is that it was "pulled" cause at the time i parked when i got off the car I admired it :P
I mean it didn't came off in the road.

swoope: does the silicone works? To be honest when i put it on i didn't try to pull it to check how easy is.

the tape should have worked. havent heard of this happening to anyone else. if it was dirty before the install it would be easy to get off....

the silicone works great for me. i got mine used so the tape was dead. i put a line on each side of the triangle... it has been on for over 2 months no problem. but i also have not tried to pull it off.

beers

Back again to update this thread... I think we should rename it to "How to secure the front rotary accent" ****** ********...

I ordered a new rear rotary accent and i took off that bloody tape (sorry 3M, but is not enough). I bond it with an epoxy BISON metal to "anything". It needed to be secured for 12 hours and put some drops of thermal silicone to secure it in position... NOW ITS FINE AND PROBABLY TESTED FROM THOSE ******** HERE IN CYPRUS, NOW... THE NEWS IS THAT THE FRONT ROTARY ACCENT IS MISSING SINCE YESTERDAY.

Facts:
1. Bison epoxy works perfect apparently (she should have tried it)
2. Sorry to say but 3M adhesives is bullshit or just not enough
3. I am just wondering, i bought a car that loads of ******** has here in Cyprus....
What kind of person is the owner of an Rx8...

Please discuss the fact no. 3.
I am so desperate to have those little shiny triangles on my car.
The problem here in Cyprus is that jealously (or something else) goes beyond the "nominal boundaries". Instead of appreciating something beautiful we are trying to destroy just because some people are ******* sick!@@#@

P.S: You see swoope why i don't wanna show off (while i am not there) my tft... :P

Sorry this happened to your car!

I have never been to Cyprus but in general RX8 owners will admire the mods made to another owner's car but never steal anything form them. Maybe every community has a few ********.

Another thought.
There was a time that VW emblems were the thing the kids wanted (for jewlery) and it was hard to keep them on the cars. Maybe the rotary is the hot symbol now.

i just bought the front and rear accents used and was wondering if the tape was the only thing that was supposed to hold them on. I know my tape is used, but I wasn't sure that was the only thing that was designed to hold them on. I've never used apoxy, but now i think I might have to. Has anyone tried anything else besides the tape or apoxy? I was planning on just getting some more doublesided tape from home depot, but now I don't know. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Some other people have used thermal silicone glue (glue gun)

Good Luck crisis

The new Rolls Royce Phantom has a hood ornament that retracts into the car when you park it because RR ornaments have always been attractive theft items. Maybe you can "retract" yours into the cabin or trunk before you lock it up.

I think there's a little hole at the lower area where you attach the rear crest, maybe you could glue a screw on the crest and secure it with a nut at the back.
