thanks for taking a look at the evo-r
No problem, I appreciate any input towards the bettering of the product!

I'll have a group buy thread up ASAP, with prices and information. All the details will be available then. I appreciate everyone's interest and I'll have a revised version of the spoiler up hopefully no later than next week. (I work everyday this week :[)

But keep the input coming and let me know if you're interested! The first people that say they're interested in buying one will get first dibs on the GB. :]

Not bad, not bad. Anyway, like other people said, you should sell them and you'll be rich...lol

If you plan to sell it don't make it out of painted lexan. You could still make it very subtle with urethane.
Just make a dime and 2 little support bars to hold the shape at speed (and possibly provide extra surface to the biadhesive tape).

Looks good! maybe a little thicker but it's definitely something you'd have to play around with and make a couple prototypes until you have that perfect one. Keep up the good work bro. I might be interested as well after seeing the final product.

Hey, Bse50, just out of curiosity, why would you recommend using the urethane over the lexan?

I'll definitely look into different materials. The lexan is holding up pretty well though, it's been on my car for a week and it's been windy and raining almost everyday and it's holding up damn good.

Lexan windows get yellow with time and the spoiler would be even more exposed. The windows also scratch very easily.
urethane and scultping compounds are the way to go, fibreglass is ok too.

What kind of sculpting compound do you recommend?

Thank you! Haha I wouldn't put anything made of wood anywhere near my car, it should be illegal.

Dunno, I have never worked with sculpting compounds to build car parts. Only sheet metal, fibreglass and urethane.

Wouldn't the paint protect the actual lexan itself? Assuming there's a couple coats of paint and a couple coats of clear.

Lexan also likes to expand and flex. All things that make the paint flake, change colour or crack over time

Hey guys, I've been experimenting with different materials and I have some definite work in progress so stay tuned! I'm trying to take my time on this and see just how well I can make it. Also, I've been a little lazy today :P.

But, not too much longer. Lexan is most likely out of the picture since it likes to be finicky.
