HID projector retrofit into Halogen housings

Is it possible and simple to retrofit the HID projectors into the halogen headlight housings. I have ballasts and bulbs so I don't need the whole package, and buying broken housings would make things cheaper.

Don't waste your time and just buy an HID conversion kit. Mine only cost $60 bucks and it was plug and play...plus they have lasted me 2 yrs so far with issues.

However I am somewhat picky and the optical properties of the halogen projectors suck when combined with HID lights. Trust me, I have tried that route and it just doesn't even compare.

You could always swap out the lens itself, there is a DIY for it.

That still does not provide the optical qualities of the OEM HID projector. Even a very very small imperfection in the location of the D2S bulb can completely ruin the light output and light delivery of the projector.
