Question HID Kit

Guys I need opinions, I been thinking of getting HIDs for the headlights and foglights, but since the headlights are almost HIDs but not as bright, is it worth it putting them on? what about for the foglights? should I? They go for about $380 for all of them, headlights and foglights. Does anyone here got them?

First of all, you have either a touring or GT based on the fact that you have stock foglights and a moonroof, so you already have HID headlights (not sure what you mean by "almost HID"). So you don't need to buy any kind of kit for the headlights.

Having said that, if you want more color from your headlights you can just change the bulbs. I've changed mine to 6000K bulbs which are more blue than the stock HID bulbs. Keep in mind though, this is a cosmetic change only. The more color you add to the bulb (6000K, 8000K, 10000K, etc.) the LESS light it puts out. So if you are thinking about doing this for light output, you already have the brightest bulbs possible.

If you want to upgrade the foglights you will need an H11 kit. Technically it is illegal to put an HID bulb in a housing that isn't built for HID, but many have done this. This will be quite a bit brighter and produce glare for oncoming traffic so you may want to be selective as to when you use them and not just have them on all the time because they look cool.

Lastly, if you are thinking of changing to a bluer bulb, you should be able to get D2S HID bulbs and an H11 kit for far less than $400. Check out V-LEDs, they sell HID bulbs and kits and they are having a sale for rx8club members right now.

If you are going to keep your stock HID bulbs and want fogs that will be a good color match, I'd go with the 5000K kit:

If you are going to do a color change, I suggest 6000K blue:
D2S HID bulbs for the headlights:

H11 kit for the fogs:

Click on the link in my sig for more info on the member discount. You may also want to pick up some LEDs to match your HIDs for the parking lights and corners. Links and pics of my LEDs are in that thread also.

The first question is, do you have the factory HIDs?
One way to tell if you can't tell (they look like house lights if they aren't) is to turn them on while in the car, and if they sort of flicker, the are most likely HID, or if they are a whiteish blue, not the yellowish halogen. If you DO have HID already, you simply need different bulbs, which is like $20ish maybe less. If not then you'll need an HID conversion kit. I bought one on ebay for $70 shipped. had it about 3 weeks. I LOVE it, one of my favorite mods to the car. As for the foglights, you'll need an HID kit no matter what, those are not stock HID for anyone. This kit will cost even less. So I am not sure where you are getting the $380 from. What products were you looking at? Links?
