Has anyone here installed an R-Magic replica?

Most, if not all, of the Rx-8's body kits are from japan and cost a lot. But that is why people make and buy replica kits. There are good replicas and there are bad originals, so you cannot always argue that original is better, although this is usually the case.

I've been looking at the ebay replicas and the www.streetconcept.com replicas.

Now my question is mainly focused on the R-Magic body kit because it is my favorite kit, but any one who has experience with a replica other than the veilside and Mazdaspeed replicas is welcome to answer. I also like the Autoexe and the ING+1.

How is the fitment on these replicas and where did you buy them?
Also, just curious to see if any one had trouble with originals.

Any contributions that might relate to the topic are welcome. I'm thinking of buying a kit, but I will not spend too much because it is not worth it for me. If it costs $1500+ I'll stick with my apearance package.

Thanks guys.

you get what you pay for....if you get an original and its off then you may have some minor work to correct it....if you get a replica its exponentially off because the original was off due to a mold issue and the copies mold will eventually be degraded enough to be extremely off....so with the money you spend on corrections it will be close enough in price to be like the real thing....

Well, I was just thinking, for example, the Autobahn replica group but thread. The company bought an original Autobahn kit to make a mold off of, but it has bad fitment. They are going to prep it to fit well, and make a mold of that. Therefore the replica should be better than the original in that case.
But I understand how a company could get a kit, not fit it and just copy it and have even more imperfections than the original. That is why I pose this question, because there are good replicas and I was wondering if there are ones that are not the Mazdaspeed or Veilside.
I hope someone with one of these replicas sheds some light. I just don't want to be the guinea pig for one of these kits because I don't have the money to spend on correcting it.

personally i say keep saving or buy from a reputable place that is making copies....evo-r and shine seem to have a good rep but some of these fly by night crews are just out to make a quick buck....there are forum vendors that are paying to be here and have a rep to uphold so they will do right by a car community by doing it right.....your final decision will be just that.....but if your looking to get it done right then pay for something proper....and if you wanna save a few bucks and get something done right buy a used kit that was already corrected
