It seems plausible that I would be interested ina full CF unit come springtime, so I'm interested, but not a million percent certain.

let me know when you are certain, and prices on the first page only applies to this very first group buy. after this, prices are gonna go up quite a bit.

What is a reasonable estimate window on the first delivery?

Once I have 10 people on the list, it'll take them 1 week to finish up everything. After that, they'll be able to crank out 4 per week. It is on a first come first serve base. Local pick up is welcomed, shipping will be 120-150 in the US

as of now, they are fixing the fitment issue, and they are also going to wetsand the trunk. By this time tomorrow, they should have a new mold, then a finish product in cf by next week. Target weight is 5 pounds, which is 2 pound lighter than stock, and around 4 pounds lighter than stock trunk with the mint blue wing. Fiberglass version and carbon fiber version will have a few ounces in weight difference, but no more than that.

for the technology used by mastergrade, visit:
http://vorsteiner.com/bmw/technology.html
currently, mastergrade, vorsteiner, and varis are the only three companies out there who use vacuum bag technology.

I am sooo close! I just need to find out if I can paint it Phantom Blue - but kind of pearlized so the CF shows through a little bit. If I can do that for under $1000; hood plus paint. I am in!

Anyone know of what I am talking about?

why dont you do what bigO is doing? fiberglass on top with carbon underside. that way you can paint over the fiberglass top, and when you open your trunk, people are gonna think you have a double side cf trunk.

That is a cool idea - but weight would go up for that right?

I know I want the best of both worlds....I am a picky *****.

its coming, tomorrow they should finish the first stage of molding ( theyve already worked out the little details with the trunk, took all the measurements again to make sure everything is even, shaved down all the extra bondo and fiberglass so the trunk is back to exact stock measurements), by wednesday they should have a new mold, and by friday (if everything goes right) they should have a finished trunk.
