it's not the flow that is the concern, I think it's the gap on the driver side PDXHAK was referring to. Am I correct in that assumption?

My question is how are you gunna tackle the underside, will that be finished as well, will the stock liner fit back on, and what about the motor and latch for the trunk pop? that is a difficult design to recreate.
i cant anwer those questions because i am not the one making this trunk. but tomorrow i will let the owner get on my forum name and explain questions you guys have. so think of some questions you'd like to ask and list them for him to answer tomorrow!

sign up to that list if you are still interested. all the shop wants to know is if people are going to be interested at all at something like this and would be willing to buy it. everything else can be worked out tomorrow once i get him to come on the board to answer your questions.

the fitment is fine there. from that angle it may look off because of the paint difference. notice that it archs down at the edge to line up with the fender.

and if u mean the corner. that is the attribute of fiberglass. fiberglass and carbon fiber cannot be as thin as metal, like the edges of the stock trunk. if thin, it could crack too easily. it will be the same on every aftermarket trunk for the 8 because cf and fiberglass cannot be be applied on a 90 degree angle bend. that is why the it looks a lil thicker on the inside.

Hey BR, If you don't mind me asking what are you seeing out of this deal? I mean, I hope it's not just the new fabbed lid. You should at least have him get you another stock lid and paint it to replace it in the event you decide to change it back in the future. This way you could put it away 4now. He is gunna profit of your ride, That's what I would do... that, or a piece of the action.

# 6. Is there any type of warrenty?

HMMmm not too bad..i still might be intrested. I'd like to see a finished carbon fiber product first. And if I do decide to go with it I need someone to buy my carbon fiber oem look first.

^ thats the problem i am running into right now. the shop wants people to show interest first before they move on the finish the trunk in cf. so right now i need people to sign up on that list, and i need 10 people.

I like the looks of the trunk lid. I feel that there will be a market for the finished product. Seeing how a lot of people don't like the spoiler look.
Personally I'm a wing man. But if I wasn't this is a lid I would seriously consider.
Just have to work on the fitment a bit more.
And if they are coming out with a wide body kit that would be great. Can't wait to see that.

I'm interested in getting a CF version but do not like the gap on the corner. Obviously not something a body shop can fix so before committing to anything, I would like to know what they are going to do about it. If nothing then I would like to see a finished product.

# 1. what will be the final necessary step after purchase, i.e. paint, primer/paint, light bodywork, heavy bodywork.
No work, just install, we're known for quality and fitment.
# 2. How will the underside be finished ^ ( the same)
The underside will be gloss black, just like all other hoods and trunks.
# 3. Are we guaranteed the latch striker will line up perfectly, will it be reinforced in any way?
Agian we're known for perfection, latch will be aligned and reinforced.
# 4. What will be the final difference in weight between the new one vs the stock.
Oem is already light, but our trunk with the intergrated spoiler will still be at least 2lbs lighter. Remember we vacumm bag, not hand lay like most competitors.
# 5. Will the trunk be engineered for the consideration of shrinkage / warping.
Most items that warp are hand laid products, they use more resin and less material. We are reverse, we use more material and less resin. Vacumm sucks all resin out so it will less likly to warp.
# 6. Is there any type of warrenty?
We have lifetime warrenty on color change, it won't turn yellow. We use the best resin, not china made resin.
# 7. Will the stock emblems still fit, will the holes be predrilled for them?
Mikes trunk was already debaged
# 8. Will there be an option for a 3rd brake light?
sorry no third brake light. Agian this is an after market part, mainly for show and race.

I am inerested as well... pending a price and updated pics of the corner fittings. You can put me on the list since you need 10 to start a model, but it's hard to commit (like many of these memebers I'm sure are thinking) with no model formed yet or price tag)...

Can you paint over the clear coat on the carbon fiber; or do you have to do a lot of prep work?

I don't want to have to spend a billion dollars to take that stuff off. (Sorry CF folks - just don't think CF parts should be CF colored - unless the car is black).
