If you buy it from home depot, look for some stuff called PlastiDip. It's basically liquid plastic. They have a variation that is spray-on. It comes in all colors, but most people want their grills black for some reason. So, get your grille, cut it, and spray it black with plastidip, the mount it. Rust won't be an issue.

Here is a site that has an excellent choice in material for grills. Customgrills.com
They have a varience in aluminum grill material, the material is very thick and easy to cut with sharp shears. Since you are using the MS front, you will have to figure out a way to mount it as I am not as familiar with it as I am the stock front end, obviously. If I had the MS front, I could design something that would work well with it.
Matter of fact, I have thought of doing something like this. I mocked up a photo of what I thought the MS front would look better with if I had the oportunity to do such. The main difference here between the original (I used the aeroworks pic of mikeb's RX-8, thanks guys) is that I scooped the oil coolers with a black ram type scoop which makes the holes more functional by forcing the air entirely through the oil cooler radiators. This is just a thought but it could be done. :D
