Not to mention that it is illegal to have ANYTHING that covers the license plate. So this alone may result in a ticket.

We might as well install LED/LCD screens for a license plate, just like those idiots that put it on the back head rests that didn't have passenger in the rear...

I like the flip one though, I'm gonna have to think of a new "solution" when I install the autoexe lip though.

btw, I can't blieve SEMA handed out an award for the "fog out" style one. That technology has been out for sometime now for house windows. Something I've looked into and the windows almost cost as much as my house. Anyways, an award for a rip off idea just put to a auto application is whack.

I hope this never happens either. First, its orange, it wont flow with my yellow car. And second, I love my noho plates. I'm trying to incorporate it more with my car, but the hos just keep coming!

If you have nothing to hide, then just keep it that way. Probably people with warrants or something to hide from the law might use it.

I love the plate on the visor- Looks much better than on the dash (where mine is until I decide A. whether to get personalized plates or B. where the heck to put it on without drilling). Think I might go that route at least for the time being!

Where i live, i've seen some with a plastic glass kind of cover and i guess it's okay. You still could see the plate number but a little bit blurry if you asked me.

Nevada state law:

License plate specifications call for plates to be readable from a distance of 100 feet during daylight. At night, plates must be readable from 110 feet and visible from 1,500 feet when lit by standard headlights. (NRS 482.270)

Plate frames or covers are not prohibited as long as the above requirements are met.

^ It's kinda hard to judge it unless you are the officer of the law. You could fight for it, but i think it's better to just take it off. Case closed.

Here's some pics of my non-motorized flip plate holder and where I mounted it. The second pic is the only photo I could find that I took with the plate in the up position. It's a cell phone so image sucks.
