Which front bumper to go with...
My car was backed into tonight while I was at my gf's sisters place...
The guy who backed into it was a neighbor who I had met a few times, really nice guy... He back into it with his old Army Jeep...
Came to the door and told us he just made the most expensive mistake of his life... Felt really bad for it all and told me he has 100% coverage and stuff, told me to have it fixed right and he would cover the damages...
The front bumper was broke up fairly bad in the passenger side, kinda close to the headlight... The headlight-washer piece was cracked, some Army Green paint was left on my bumper...
I'm basically looking for some front bumper suggestions that won't take me forever to receive (I'm in Ottawa, Canada)
Can you order a Mazdaspeed front bumper painted from the factory? Or perhaps just the original front bumper painted from factory? I know the car is 4 years old and the paint may not match perfectly, but this is the route I would prefer to go is possible... and if it is possible, what kind of pricing am I looking at for either of them? (Will be calling Mazda Tuesday to check on some things either way, but would like to get the ball rolling ASAP)
Any other suggestions on clean-looking front bumpers, and what type of material is the best to go with? I hear bad things about Fiberglass and Polyurethane, so what are the good and bad for both?

you can order the mazdaspeed front bumper painted and primered either one from www.onlinemazdaparts.com If i were you i would go for the upgrade especially if your going to be getting spotted the cost to replace... take the 300 or whatever you would normally spend on a OEM bumper and put towards the 1200 painted MS bumper from the factory and your done... no painting, fitting, and you got a sweet upgrade- good luck!

Get any Mazdaspeed bodykit parts from Trussville. They have the cheapest parts. I previously thought Rosenthal did, but Trussville is a lot cheaper. Their service is great too. PM the vendor.

Yeah, $1290 from Trussville for the MS Front...
I called two of the local Mazda dealerships... Here is how the first conversation went...
Me: I'm just calling to see if you guys are able to give me a price on a Mazdaspeed front bumper for an '04 RX8...
Parts: We'll take a look, can I have your VIN?
Me: I don't have it on me at the moment.
Parts: Well, we can't do anything without it.
Me: I have the correct part number right here for it in Velocity Red.
Parts: Ok we'll give it a shot.
Me: *gave part number*
Parts: Ummm, do you know how much they are?
Me: I have a good idea yeah, NOT CHEAP...
Parts: Yeah, $2326.40
Me: WHOAAAAAAA, Thats more than double the price of purchasing one in the States from Trussville... Nevermind...
So I called another dealer here, they had the same price...
Even with the shipping from the States, it would only cost me prolly $1500-$1600 which is still close to a grand cheaper than buying one locally...
And the dealers complain about everyone buying cars and parts from the states... Adjust yer damn prices to the current $ value... I know there is many issues about adjusting the prices of cars and ****, but a front bumper that they would have to order in from somewhere in the first place?
I went with a stock front bumper either way... $500 shipped and appears to be in much much better shape than mine was in before the accident anyways...
